Hi, As you know, i completely agree about your project. That would be amazing to include OCR features in Gnome for 2.20, just as Abiword plugin. About the API. It would be nice to provide a simple API that also allow advanced tune of the OCR process. That may be done with just a few helpers func. See the sound API issue in Gnome : there are no sound in Gnome App because it's not easy to add them. Gaim wrote it's own "gtk-sound" component in order to easily play sounds. (But no sound is play when e-mails are received/send, disc is burn, trash is empty, etc.). If i was writing Abiword OCR plugin, i would like to be able to send a GdkPixbuf and receive text with or without formatting. That's all i can tell you. Étienne. -- Verso l'Alto !
