Go ahead and ask questions directly on the improve minimize animations
bug.  This way the relevant discussion is archived right on the bug, and
if, for example, some factor causes you to stop working on this, then
future folks will be able to look at your questions, the answers, and
your patches in progress and make more informed decisions.
