Well, that and the experiences of Apple. If I had a penny for every time
I'd read "if only Microsoft would rewrite Windows from scratch like Apple
did, the world would be made of peaches" I'd have a lot of pennies.

Of course, trying to rewrite MacOS nearly killed the company several times
... and it was only necessary because MacOS 9 was an unworkable POS. Not
something you can say about GNOME (or Windows).
