First of all, g-s-t requires root privileges. Second,
system-tools-backends only runs on certain distributions. And it
doesn't support ZeroConf.
So while the apache "backend" of gnome-user-share IMO is a bit hackish
(imagine webfs with DAV support instead), it beats the g-s-t
alternative by far, at least in my book.
