annoying in this circumstance.  I would argue the view is what is being
rotated rather than the image per se, and the original should be preserved
and unmolested and the user required to deliberately save a copy of they
want to keep the changes.  (As I recall Picasa was very good about not
messing with your originals.) Ideally we'd do a bit of user testing and
come up with a solid answer but I'm a big fan of "competative analysis"
because it is a lot easier and faster to compare and contrast what others
are already doing and stand on the shoulders of giants.
