They all sound reasonable to me.  I updated the release schedule page
(www.gnome.org/start/2.7) earlier today to add a reminder about who to
notify when branching (at the end of the page).  I filed some patches
in http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=152276 to update other
documentation according to the changes you propose, so if people don't
object to anything, committing those patches should help remind
everyone of the changes.
