BLOCKED BY FREEZE bugs

Hi,

To make it easier to tackle the bugs marked as being blocked by freeze, I
found some volunteers from gnome-love and gnome-bugsquad to review the
relevant bugs found at
  http://bugzilla.gnome.org/reports/patches-to-act-on.cgi?use_blocked=1
Caleb Groom did the first handful, and Vincent Noel went crazy and
reviewed the rest (I modified the information from both slightly to
put it all in the same format). So, the attached text file contains
the bugs in alphabetical order by product with the following
information:
  - product, component, & bug #
  - age of the attached patch(es) and whether they still apply to CVS HEAD
  - a quick summary of the bug

Please take a look at them, apply relevant patches, update the patch
status and/or remove the BLOCKED_BY_FREEZE keyword.

Thanks,
Elijah
Product: control-center
Component: general
Bug #: 98202
Patch Info:
  attached : 2002-11-26 [old]
applies to CVS : no - The file layout of control-center has changed
    since this patch was made.
Summary:
The control center capplets should not set the Close button as
default. The patch alters 8 of the caplets, making the trivial
change to turn off the default property of the Close button. This
is a patch that seems to only ever be remembered during freezes.

Product: control-center
Component: font properties
Bug #: 117363
Patch Info:
  attached : 2003-07-29 [quite old]
applies to CVS : not cleanly. Some hunks succeed and some
fail. Should just need a little adjustment.
Summary:
Moves the "open font folder" button on the main "font properties"
page, from the "font rendering details" page.

Bug #: 132655
Patch Info:
  attached : 2004-01-27 and 2004-01-27 [aging]
applies to CVS : no (1 hunk fails)
Summary:
Cleans up the error reporting regarding /dev/pmu (gives more
information in the case of failure). The last comment in the bug
however specifies that /dev/pmu should not be accessed directly, so
the bug would need some rewriting.

  attached : 2004-08-30 [new]
  applies to CVS : cleanly.
Summary:

Component: window preferences
Bug #: 152132
Patch Info:
  attached : 2004-09-08, 2004-09-08 [new]
applies to CVS : cleanly. The patch assumes the control center is
version 2.7.1 however, so a little modification is required.
Summary:
Make Hyper and Super the same choice if both are mapped to the same
modifier. Patch is approved by Havoc.

Product: control-center
Component: keyboard
Bug #: 154358
Patch Info:
  attached : 2004-10-04, 2004-10-05, 2004-10-05 [new]
  applies to CVS : cleanly.
Summary:
Let the "preview" window show above the capplet instead of staying
below. Also makes the preview follow the main dialog in other
  workspaces and when it's raised.

Product: EOG
Component: general
Bug #: 131897
Patch Info:
  attached : 2004-02-25 and 2004-02-26 [aging]
applies to CVS : almost cleanly (the changelog bit is rejected but the rest
is ok). It does not compile though, so some work is required :-(

adds a "help" button to the EOG preferences dialog. The more recent
  patch makes the dialog HIG-compliant.

Product: EOG
Component: image viewer
Bug #: 137873
Patch Info:
  attached : 2004-03-22 [aging]
applies to CVS : no (it changes eog-shell-ui.xml, which is not in CVS
anymore). This string is now in shell/eog-window.c
Summary:
Changes the "Open Directory" menu item to "Open Folder".

Product: epiphany
Component: tabs
Bug #: 114949
Patch Info:
  attached : 2004-02-08

Make "open a new tab on middle click" work with javascript
links. The patch attached to the bug report (attachment 24200) has
already been applied, according to a comment in the bug. Some work
remains to be done before closing the bug though.

Product: epiphany
Component: history
Bug #: 116609
Patch Info:
  attached : 2004-01-28 [aging]
  applies to CVS : cleanly
Summary:

The patch applies cleanly but Marco thinks it would be cleaner to
add a history API to remove sites from the history.

Product: epiphany
Component: mozilla interaction
Bug #: 121118
Patch Info:
There's actually no patch in this bug report. The BLOCKED_BY_FREEZE
keyword refers to a string change, which is still relevant to
  epiphany CVS.
Summary:
Gconf-option "Always use the desktop theme colors" breaks display of
  images

Product: gnome-applets

Bug #: 111426

  french (for example).

Product: gnome-applets
Component: battery
Bug #: 125585
Patch Info:
  attached : 2003-10-27 [old]
  applies to CVS : no.
Summary:
adds the ability to show the remaining working time of the battery

Component: general
Bug #: 88318
Patch Info:
  attached : 2004-07-13 [recent] and 2003-07-14

  property.

Product: nautilus
Component: background emblems and themes
Bug #: 44867
Patch Info:
  attached : on 2004-08-28 [recent]
  applies to CVS : cleanly
Summary:
When creating a custom color in Nautilus the user provides a name
for the color. There is nothing preventing the user from using a
non-unique color name, which triggers an error. The patch was
  blocked by string freeze.

Product: nautilus
Component: view as list
Bug #: 88585
Patch Info:
  attached : 2002-11-02 [old]
  applies to CVS : no
Summary:
The up and down arrows in the column header represent a sorting that
is, well, backwards. The patch is a simple change to the comparison
function that nautilus uses to determine the sorting.

Product: nautilus
Component: desktop
Bug #: 131790
Patch Info:
  attached : 2004-08-31 [new]
  applies to CVS : cleanly
Summary:
removes the "use default background" from the desktop context
menu. There's some discussion in the report about removing this
option in every folder's context menu, but this patch should
  definitely go in anyway.

Product: nautilus
Component: navigation
Bug #: 149008
Patch Info:
  attached : 2004-08-08 [new]
applies to CVS : almost cleanly (the Changelog bit does not apply)
Summary:
Changes nautilus browser windows title from "File Browser - URI" to
"URI - File Browser". According to the last comment from the report,
every *.po file will need to be patched as well, but maybe that's
  left to the translators.

Product: nautilus
Component: general
Bug #: 149941
Patch Info:
  attached : 2004-08-11 [new]
applies to CVS : almost cleanly (the Changelog bit does not apply)
Summary:
fixes the "Places" and "Go" menus - mnemonic conflicts, add stock
icons, renames the "CD Creator" to "CD/DVD Creator".

Product: nautilus
Component: general
Bug #: 150295
Patch Info:
  attached : 2004-08-17 [new]
applies to CVS : no. That's because the non-string portions of the patch
were already committed.
Summary:
The original patch fixed some widget padding for the "connect to
server" dialog in nautilus, and fixed some strings. The padding part
has been committed. A new patch should take care of the strings.
