Slide show as part of screensaver

It seems everyone has one of these nowadays - Windows, Mac OS X, and
even the K desktop enviornment.

It's about time GNOME had support for slide-shows in our screensavers.
What are these slide-shows you ask? They're just displays of pictures in
a certain directory.

Should this be discussed here, or should I be contacting the
xscreensaver maintainer (jwz)?
