Hello,
Checking redhat's bugzilla I saw this bug which makes an interesting

What do you think about it? I think it will improve usability in the
desktop since you have to minimize all your windows to see the new
available media.
In fact, this is a fantastic opportunity to tell the user that he have
to unmount the volume before unplugging it.
Try out the drive mount applet in the 2.9.x series. It is quite
different from the version found in previous releases -- it requires no
configuration, since it gets the list of connected drives/mounted
volumes from the same place as Nautilus.
James.
