Okay, how about keeping the different kinds of bookmarks seperate then,
BUT use the same format to store them on disk. Then they could reuse the
same code to parse/load/edit them. In addition, bookmarks for certain
popular applications (like the file manager or the browser) could be
added to the main menu. Like so ..
Open Recent -->
Open Bookmarks --+--> File Manager -->
+--> Web Browser -->
But then again, bookmarks in gconf of a source-editor hardly seems
similar enough to file manager / web browswer bookmarks. Hmmm.
At any rate, the least that can be done is always use the term
"Bookmarks", for consistency. So no "Favorites" ...
