I did look in bugzilla for activity before posting my message. While
that has the potential to improve things considerably, even the "final"
times mentioned in the posting are still extremely slow. It shouldn't
take 4 seconds to begin displaying the Aisleriot manual, much less 40,
especially when we could display the document essentially immediately if
it were simply an HTML document.
Is precompiling the help documents not feasible?
