Ah - I was too vague I see.
What I am trying to do is modify the startup files used by GNOME at login
so that specific applications - whether saved automatically or set manually
to be started by gnome-session - start up on a specific monitor in a specific
workspace.
So I am using the metacity window manager and gnome-session shipped with
Solaris GNOME.
