I don't think these local sites should be a first point of contact for a
GNOME user just because that user happens to speak a different language. I
don't think that is their purpose. If these sites were meant to be pure
translations of the www.gnome.org site, then they would be part of
www.gnome.org.
Of course it would be nice to have translated content on www.gnome.org, but
until that happens, I think it's enough to have links to the local sites on
www.gnome.org.
