I too ran into the problem, running debian unstable using jhbuild, and
none of the gnome -dev packages installed.
Also, I ran into the same libbonoboui problem that Markus ran into; a
clea build of gnome-vfs somehow failed to install the new version of
gnome-vfs.h when make install was run. Fixed it by manually installing
the file, but shouldn't make install unconditionally overwrite the
header files it installs?
