gnome-session

Hi!

Where can I found some documentation to read how to configure the
default of gnome-session?
(I will the same default in different machines.)

When I change the following files, nothing happens:
/usr/share/gnome/default.wm
/usr/share/gnome/default.session

(since gnome1.4; I have nothing in /etc/gnome directory)

So how can I configure the gnome-session?
(now I don't use gnome-session at all ... All things(gnome-panel,
nautilus, tasklist-applet, etc) work fine, but it doesn't a clean
solution ...)
