The binary name for this, if you want to run it in standalone mode, is
"magnifier".

You can run "magnifier --usage" or "magnifier --help" to get a bit more
info.

I have updated the README to mention the "magnifier" CLI.

Note that gnome-mag is *not* primarily intended for use this way, it's a
bonobo service that's mostly intended for use by other clients such as
gnopernicus (as Jeff suggests).

Running the magnifier in fullscreen mode requires that you have two
framebuffers (some Matrox video cards support this, otherwise you might
need two video cards).  Only one of the heads/framebuffers need be
connected to a physical monitor of course.

For starters, try

magnifier -vm

(vertical split-screen, follows the mouse).
