I'd like to have Totem in 2.4, really. There could be some problems
regarding patents in the xine-lib version of it, but Julien Moutte is
supposed to have a GST backend to the thing in the making (at least,
it's on his TODO list), and distributions are still free to not ship a
module that's in the GNOME desktop as such.
