Someone on IRC had a similar issue, I think he fixed it by moving the
green block at
http://cvs.gnome.org/bonsai/cvsview2.cgi?diff_mode=context&whitespace_mode=show&file=main.c&branch=&root=/cvs/gnome&subdir=gnome-session/gnome-session&command=DIFF_FRAMESET&rev1=1.58&rev2=1.59
below the gtk_init call (the file is gnome-session/main.c).
