I give you another example here to explain better. Let's get rid of views and
use a plugins system. How will GNOME benefit completely from it.
Example:
We have one plugin that renders webpages easy to embedd in the app, easy to
call and easy to initialize (not library). Say we use Mozilla or MRE.
Devhelp could use that plugin by simply calling it, Yelp, Galeon, Epiphany and
even inside Nautilus by simply calling that plugin. One plugin used in many
apps, easy simple, clean.
Right now all 3 apps duplicate the code, Yelp, Devhelp provides code for
GtkHTML1+2 and Mozilla. Nautilus uses Nautilus-GtkHTML, Epiphany and Galeon
calls the Mozilla api directly.(¹)
Am I missing something or mistaken ? From what I know through own
investigations (and lack of documentation) the things mentioned under (¹) are
duplicate of code right everything coded from NEW into the app, over and over
again.
