Re: gnome volume control still running at startup

FWIW, the problem is that gdm uses the -i option to call
gnome-volume-conrol, but iain removed that option last week. The
solution is to remove the following lines:

http://cvs.gnome.org/lxr/source/gdm2/config/gnomerc.in#5

on through line 11. [Users can fix the problem by just commenting this
out from /etc/X11/gdm/gnomerc]

The rationale for their addition is here:
http://cvs.gnome.org/bonsai/cvslog.cgi?file=%2Fgdm2%2Fconfig%2Fgnomerc.in

Iain believes (probably correctly) that this is not the right way to do
what George was trying to do here, so he's not going to restore the
option.

So... someone should fix this. Frankly, I'll go and do it myself
tomorrow if someone else doesn't, but all I'm going to do is comment
things out so as to minimize irritation for GNOME's testers. Someone
else should (ideally) figure out a 'correct' solution to George's
problem.
