I have a problem with gnome-terminal 2.0.1 when I am logged in as user
(as root it works normally). When I start gnome-terminal I get the
message "There was an error creating the child process for this
terminal: Succes"
I can use the menu (to edit profile etc.), but there is no bash, only a
blinking cursor.
Here is the last part of my strace output:
1710 stat64("/dev/ttyp1", {st_mode=S_IFCHR|0666, st_rdev=makedev(3, 1),
...}) = 0
1710 getuid32() = 1001
1710 chown32(0xbfffbaec, 0x3e9, 0) = -1 EPERM (Operation not
permitted)
1710 fork() = 1712
1710 wait4(1712,
1001 is the user I'm working as and 1712 is the PID of gnome-pty-helper.
I already re-installed Gnome already twice (with different prefixes),
and I'm almost desperate right now.
