OK, maybe this is a new feature.  If it's not "going away" then I agree
that this might give us some more options to consider.

But of course it won't solve the issue of highlighting when other RC
file themes are used, those other themes will still need to override
panel SELECTED colors if they don't want visual pyrotechnics.
