We wake up to check the device, true. But if you use devfs, checking the device doesn't make a hard disk access. Hitting /etc/mtab and /etc/fstab does wake up the hard disk. So by using devfs and fam, my hard disk isn't touched, and my laptop batteries last longer :) -- /Bastien Nocera http://hadess.net
