Viewports and gnome 2

I've been lurking around this list for a few months now, and using gnome
for over two years. Since I'm not a developer I can't contribute code
(the only real voting power in free software), but I do want to add my
voice to Adrian Custer's and Ken Witherow's. 

I use every just about every technique Ken mentions, daily. Workspaces
only would cripple my use of my desktop.
