compiling gnumeric2 under gnome2

Has anyone been able to compile gnumeric2 under current gnome 2

my attempt bombs at

gcc:GNOME_Gnumeric-common.c no such file or directory

I did try copying files from my aborted gnumeric 1.1.1 but eventually
bombed at the same point refering to gnumeric graph guru
