I don't have any ui expertise so this is all just my opinion, but
personally I think the default layout is _much_ better than the windows
scheme. The "right click on close button for menu" is something that
could easily be removed if dangerous. imho the window menu is totally
redundant for most users, and thus best kept hidden. When you remove
the operations that can be performed from the buttons on the window
title bar, there's nothing compelling left, mostly just hackerish
things..

Also, having close next to maximize/minimize just seems really wrong

As to the close button being hard to see in some circumstances, that
can probably be fixed..

|Anyway, our question is, would it be possible/objectionable to make
|these the default community Sawfish theme settings for GNOME 2.0 too? 

I would much much prefer to leave the sawfish defaults as they
currently stand
