User specified geometry

Hi,

Some applications in Gnome like gnome-terminal, ghex provides
the user, the option --geometry to place them in any specified
x,y position and desired widthxheight. But some applications like
gnome calculator do not support this.

Window manager do use this geometry hints to place them
provided the applications support them.

Is this a required or an enhancement feature for all gnome
applications ?
