RE: VTE



i guess this is the wrong iconv library linking issue that gets faced during
the Solaris compilation.
btw this is Solaris 2.8 platform. Hopefully, this is nothing to do with vte.
can we update on this by tomorrow?

This backtrace looks a lot like someone isn't checking the result
of g_iconv_open(). (returns (GIConv)-1 on failure.)

There may be an underlying problem with g_get_charset() returning
bad results here or something, but an informative error message
would be useful in debugging that.
