99% of the time... no, make that 100%... the run menu is used via the
hotkey and is used to type an app in.  I've never not had the 'advanced'
dialog down, and have never found the app list to be anything of use.  

However, an improvement that could go in there would be command line
completion, a-la mozilla's history, or even the kde run menu, where
it'll complete what you typed based on the history.  

But as for the app list, this end user says "bye bye" :)
