Hi Raphaël,
My suggestion for a replacement is to have something along the lines of
Search for selected text when the shortcut is triggered
or
Run query on selected text when the shortcut is triggered
I hope this helps,

Hi !
I have a string in deskbar-applet, but i received bug reports about it,
because the meaning wasn't clear.
I hope someone on this list can provide a useful replacement, and this
mail also serves as a request to break string freeze to replace it with
that hypothetical new string.
Related bug is:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=352009
The current string is:
Search selection when triggering the shortcut
The meaning is that if you have a text selected (highlighted) in the
selection clipboard, then triggering the deskbar-applet hotkey, will
also use that selected text as search query. For example i see a word
"gnome" in a webpage, i highlight it with the mouse, hit alt-f3, then
deskbar pops up with the query "gnome" in it, and display results of
that query.
As I'm not a native english speaker i don't know how to describe that.
Thanks in advance !
Raf
