Hello,

I just discovered this handler after reading the Deskbar article in Gnome Journal today and downloaded it after installing libgmail- 0.1.3.3. It showed up in preferences but I couldn't get it to work yet. A few minutes later I saw your email about this. I removed Deskbar from my panel, deleted the original plugin and put your modified version in .gnome2/deskbar-applet/handlers and restarted Deskbar. 

Now I don't get it listed in the preferences at all, and I can't find anything in GConf related to it. Here's the output:
