For screenshots, I think a good place is where launchpad stores tarballs[1]. Having the release number in the screenshot url helps to have a match between the screenshots and the actual interface.
FYI, I have acted on this good suggestion and in release 29.1, we'll have a couple screenshots in the appdata that point to launchpad.
