MBR backed up?

Hi -

I think the subject line says what concerns me. I just installed Ubuntu 
11.10 (dual boot with WinXP). After making such changes, I always save 
the MBR and a copy of fdisk -l, usually on a removable flash drive. 
Maybe I should be saving GRUB as well?

I keep a copy of Puppy around as my "rescue" system. I usually have my 
desktop pictures, email list, and bookmarks on more than one computer, 
so I can restore those from another computer.

I also keep an "install" folder on one of the drives, with the latest 
version of Firefox, T'bird, other major apps.

Just thoughts, but I think adding the MBR to the automated backup would 
be a good idea.
