By my count, we received 44 applications.  Somewhere around half of them
were about Dashboard.  Most of the rest were for ideas listed on the web
site, and a few were original ideas.

More than half of the applications were sent in during the final 36
hours prior to the deadline, so I honestly haven't read most of them
yet.

My inclination is that we'll probably take between 5 and 10.  I am a
little worried about overcommitting myself as a mentor, and the only
other mentor we have is Jon Trowbridge, who can realistically only take
on 1 or maybe 2 students.

Many of the applications that I have read are quite good, and it is
going to be very difficult to decide.

Maybe?  I think it's still a little too early to tell.
