To make debugging easier, you can disable individual backends in beagled
from the command line.

To run with only the mail backend:
% beagled --allow-backend mail

To disable the mail backend:
% beagled --deny-backend mail

If you can confirm which backend is causing the hang, please file a bug
w/ the relevant information at http://bugzilla.gnome.org.
