Ubuntu inotify kernel patch

In the midst of crazy GNOME Summit hacking, hungover, eyes tired, only
trow still has the motor skills to type...

Chris Rivera helped me cook up an inotify patch for the Ubuntu kernel:

Just apply this patch to the retrieved kernel source and rebuild.

If we get packages and a place to put them, I will try to put them up
and shall announce it here.  But right now we only have Chris's PPC
machine.
