Hi all,
For this last week I've done some last minute work and some polishments:
- Changed SimpleConfigurator to accept value kinds instead of widgets, including making a "list" kind, which shows a combo box which the user can select from. This improves the iPod configuration code a lot, removing unnecessary code and logic.
- While I was hacking the SimpleConfigurator I made it to use tables and increase a little the border, now it looks better and is more HIG compliant.
- I added a choice between Movie, MusicVideo and TvShow in the iPod configuration.
- Merged two-pass encoding to the video converter, back from my initial code. It's not well tested, but it looks good. It's optimized enough not to encode audio or write to the output file in the first pass, and it can include per-encoder optimizations, because it can create encoders based on the current pass. All of this without being much complex. I'm glad I waited until all was working to include it.
I think overall, the iPod media support in Conduit is in a good first release state. There are a few remaining issues, and some optimizations to be made, but it is usable.
This is awesome. I just pushed all your work to trunk! Thankyou (and thanks to Google) for all your work in this.
I successfully added a video to my ipod. In my testing I noticed a few remaining issues
* No progress reporting
* I tried to encode a video, which got stuck in the encoding process, and was just printing error messages. It was impossible to quit conduit because the encoding thread was stuck in an infinite error loop.
Did you make any progress on the alternative DBus UI?
Thanks
John
p.s Feel free to apply for GNOME SVN, and then you can start working on scn trunk!
Now that GSoC is over I want to thank John Carr and John Stowers, for their help and for their great program. It has been a great experience.
Thank you all for this great opportunity.
