Another tweak to bug #463881:  Removed the call to updatePointer().  
Apparently it's a recent addition to gnome-mag and generating a 
traceback for those who don't have it.  And, oh, it doesn't work anyway.  
I had to hack around it.  So the call isn't needed.  Hopefully this is 
the last of the "tweaks". :-(
