Implementing a new actor

Good day, folks;

Was trying to find inspiration for subclassing ClutterActor, so to
speak, but the only immediately relevant documentation was last seen in
version 1.8:

As of 1.10 it was, apparently dropped.

Would it be correct to say, that it was removed due to being hopelessly
out of date, and therefore more misleading, than enlightening?
