[clutter] color change delay

Hi,

I am seeing a delay of upto 4 seconds to change the color of an actor on
button-press-event.

Does anyone have a suggestion to make the response time faster?

Print statements in the event handler function are immediately written to
console so the delay seems to be deeper in the event handling stack.
