How to combine effects?

Hi!

The help in Cheese 3.2.0 has the following chapter:
"Apply effects to photos and videos" which says:

1. Click Effects.
2. Select the effect you want to use by clicking one of the options.
If you like, you can select multiple effects. For example, if you
select Hulk and Kung-Fu, the video will be altered to have a green
shade and will show a repeated image.
3. Click Effects to hide the effects menu and return to the normal view.

On Ubuntu 11.10 I'm not able to select multiple effects -- as soon as
I click an effect, Cheese returns to the normal view.

It seems the multiple effects were possible in Cheese 2.*.
Is the above help chapter now obsoleted?
