Thumbnail generation on video files fails

Dear list,

Under Ubuntu 8.04.2, I have installed the cheese application by
"$sudo apt-get install cheese".

The thumbnail generation works without a flaw on taking still
pictures while it fails on video recording.

Version of cheese goes to 2.22.3

I have taken a look on https://bugs.launchpad.net/cheese
but could not get a similiar report on this issue.

If this is a know limition of this version, please let me know.

Any commet would be greatly appreciated.
