You probably will want to transition to Gnome-Calendar - It seems to
have picked up where California left off.

I agree. I would not recommend anyone use California at this time. I
would either recommend GNOME-Calendar, Evolution calendar, or Lightning,
the calendar extension for Thunderbird ( . . . and I can't recommend any
one over the others - I think they are all reasonable options depending
on your preferences and needs).

I thank the California developers for their prior efforts on this
project, though.
