categories again

Hi all,

Once upon a time I wrote a patch for category support in gnome-pim (specifically for todo-items). I'd like to extend category support, but I have some questions.

Basically, there are 3 things I want to do:
- adding category support to calendar-items (this is pretty easy)
- adding pixmap support to categories (this is not too hard)
- making categories editable (user can add, remove categories etc.)

This last point is very important to make categories really useful, but it requires some coding.
- another dialog box for editing categories
- categories need to be stored somewhere. some cats.xml file seems appropriate; i have to device some dtd, taking into account i18n issues.
- pixmaps need to be stored somewhere. /usr/local/share/pixmaps/gnome-pim-cats or something like that.

The issue here is not that I don't like coding (I do) or that I'm lazy (I am), but whether it's a bit 'too much' for gnome-pim. For example, take a look at MS OutLook category support -- it's very basic. I wonder if it's worthwile to add extensive category support to gnome-pim when (maybe) it's not used very often...

Please tell me what you think.

Cheers,
	Dirk-Jan.
