Excellent Suggestion.

Question 2 reminds me of the work I was trying to do earlier this year: 
generating a manifest of all the sources, interrogating each element and 
trying to extract a list of sources, along with relevant URLs and refs.

I think there's a lot of use cases for wanting to be able to pull this 
kind of information out of Buildstream's files and collate it.
