Gnome package creation status

Hi :o)

I was wondering if there were still plans for building RPM/DEB packages,
and if so, at what sort of time could we expect to see the first ones ?

As part of the GNOME Documentation Project team, I have seen numerous
requests for LiveCDs / VMware images / packages as a recent version of
GNOME is indispensable to GDP contributors. Of course apart from our
specific need, the idea of providing packages seems great, and should
benefit the community greatly.

Could you please cc me any replies, as I do not subscribe to this list,
