This is really weird, I have been using banshee for several years, and
yesterday it stops working.
I mean, I let it opened and this mourning I click the play button and it
began sounding but the the banshee window stopped responding. I can select
the window but not scrolling, not stop. No button woks.
I reboot my system and at launching banshee, the same freezing after
clicking play, I erase the banshee-1 trees in .cache and .config subdirs and
nothing.
I updated the fedora 21 reboot, and I got the same freezing.
I really love this media player (I like good sound and the equalizer). I
decide to upgrade to fedora 22, but I am still getting the same freezing
after clicking play. I mean, it begins playing music but becomes
inoperative.
if I try to down the volume with the keyboard keys, it stops sounding.
If I go to the top bar and try to quit I got the message:
"some song is not responding" wait or force quit.
If I wait and run top I notice that banshee is taking three of my cores
(363%, also noticed by the sound of the fan)
If I start it at terminal as
%banshee -d
I get at launching a lot of:
(Banshee:10590): GLib-CRITICAL **: Source ID 986 was not found when
attempting to remove it
but the banshee window is still working.
And after clicking play I get:
Note: Applications can use GLib.ExceptionManager.UnhandledException to
handle the exception.
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an
object
