The problem you're experiencing has already been reported by other users
in our bug tracking system (I recommend you to look for problems in it
in the future: bugzilla.gnome.org):

But if you look inside you will notice that:
- The bug is already fixed, you just need to upgrade to a new version.
- The bug was actually not inside Banshee, so what you need to upgrade
is a library that Banshee uses, called SoundTouch (libsoundtouch0, the
package name).
