Re: [Banshee-List] Cover art

Yours is a batch problem: that is you have many cover art jpg's to replace and your using auto fetch, which I am not using.  So this may not be helpful, but it's good to have someone to bounce off of on these issues.

I'm using:
Ubuntu 12.04, Banshee 2.4.1 for this discussion
Ubuntu 13.04, Banshee 2.6.1 for reference and experimentation

Just to review what I had done, for clarity.  I had used some inferior jpg's and I wanted to replace them.  Every time I tried to do that with delete file, it kept going back to that cache and finding that inferior file.  I had to search out that location and delete two files

home>.cache>media-art>filename   AND  home>.cache>media-art>90>filename

So, in both locations

This was a hack, that may be laborious for you and it does nothing for the auto-file download.  I get my cover art manually, mostly for Wikipedia.  Their 220x220 pix format was satisfactory.  MusicBrainz has been good for auto-fill of track titles, but cover art is spotty and non-standardized.

That's enough for now...you may have sorted things out already

Thanks for your help. I renamed the .cache/media-art file, started Banshee which recreated the file and automatically downloaded some cover art - roughly half of my collection. Unfortunately, the choose new cover art/delete this cover art options are still greyed out so this was not the solution. This was all working fine until yesterday when I used the command "banshee --fetch-artwork". Any other ideas?

the cover art hides in a separate location.  I had some inferior Cover Art.  To get rid of it I had to ferret out this separate cache and delete the file there.  Then I could put the correct one in.  If your still struggling, I'll see if I can find it for you.  I browsed the web for my fix, should be out there.

Additionally I am now unable to add cover art manually, the choose new cover art/delete this cover art options are greyed out. I have tried reinstalling Banshee - no difference.

Maybe I have to delete a corrupted file?  Any help appreciated.
