Are you using forked-daap as your server? If so, the problem seems to be on their side, see https://github.com/jasonmc/forked-daapd/issues/78

On both Debian Testnig and Linux Mint 11 - Banshee crashes after entering the
password for my DAAP share.

In contrast my Android phone works perfectly fine with the share, so there
isn't a server problem.
